Coolness.

I was just looking around for some clips of the movie Drumline, which is about a super talented black guy who plays drums in a marching band, when I suddenly remembered August Rush. Its not a new movie, I myself watched it many months ago.

It's not important that you read this, I'm just elaborating for people who might be interested in the movie. The important stuff is the videos further down the post. This is the rough plot of August Rush.

Here's how it goes.

It starts with two amazing musicians, Lyla and Louis. Lyla is some famous cellist, and Louis is the singer/guitarist of a popular rock band. They meet at a party, and (predictably) spend the night together. Lyla gets pregnant, and due to unforeseen circumstances, they are separated and unable to find each other.

Lyla's dad does not want her to have to handle the burden of bearing a child all by herself, so when she passes out giving birth (or something like that), he takes the child away and sends it to the orphanage, telling her that it died.

The child grows up, and at around 11 years old, runs away from the orphanage to find his parents. The child's name is Evan. Anyway, he finds himself in a situation somewhat similiar to that of Oliver Twist.

He joins a band of kids who are taken care of by a man named Wizard. The kids perform music on the streets and the money they make is given to Wizard for taking care of them. Eventually, Evan is realised to be an amazing music prodigy.

Here is the clip from the movie, which according to the movie, is the first time he has ever touched a musical instrument. B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T.

Afterwards, he runs into his father, Louis, at a park, and they play a guitar duet, each not knowing the identity of the other. This is the clip of that.

I'm not going to continue the movie plot, I'm too lazy, and some parts of it I can't clearly remember. If you want to read more, here's the plot.

The person who plays as Evan's hands in the movie is Kaki King. She's(yes, she) also the composer of the guitar parts in the movie. After doing some research, I found that she composed a song with the unorthodox name "Gay Sons of Lesbian Mothers".

I also found another cool guitar slap video. His stuff is... Just watch it.

I've tried guitar slapping, and it is not half as easy as Evan makes it look in the first clip.

Lets just go full steam ahead and bombard this place with a video post of every interesting video clip I find. After all, it is the holidays, and what better way to spend the holidays other than by watching people more talented than us?

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

I thought there was nothing better than a gorilla playing drums. I thought wrong.

Now that's cool. Although very long.

THIS IS THE BEST! You could skip all others, but don't deny yourself the wonders of Tim Minchin. The starting isn't much, but wait for the part where he starts singing and playing the piano.

Harmonica and beatbox. Harmbox.

Okay, I'm done here.

These people have reached a level of prodigious talent that few of us will ever reach. Kudos to those who do.

Jun Shern out.
